I think Alves is a much better defender than many give him credit for. Seeing as RB is a problem position for Chelsea and money is not a problem in their position I would pay whatever it took to get him in.
If he comes to the PL I predict that like Evra by the end of the season everyone will have forgotten that they thought he was a crap defender by the end of the season. He will improve their 1st team, but I don't think he'll improve them much defensively tbh.
