    Keane in a WAGS tirade.

I think Keane has point ( I´m starting to like Keane ) I've often thought about it why the players' wives can't just sit tight and stand by their ridiculusly well paid husbands and boyfriends and move with them, then by 35 they do what they like as Keane says. Most of them can just buy a frigging helicopter and commute to Harrods if they have to

Keane blasts players controlled by their wives
LONDON, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Sunderland manager Roy Keane has launched a withering attack on "weak and soft" players who are dictated to by their wives and girlfriends.
Keane, famous for his tirade against corporate Manchester United fans who he dubbed "the prawn sandwich brigade" when he was captain at Old Trafford, said some players were not interested in playing for clubs outside the English capital.
"Priorities have changed for footballers and they are being dictated to by their wives and girlfriends," Keane was quoted as saying by British media on Wednesday.
"I find it surprising that geography seems to play such a big part or that players let their wives decide," the Irishman said.
"I think it's weak. You see it with a couple of big players now. Clearly their wives and girlfriends are running their lives and that's a bad sign. I realise it is part of the package and more so when there are children and schools involved, but ultimately you're a footballer.
"Retire at 35 or 36, you can live wherever you bloody well like -- London, Monaco, wherever -- and any half-decent footballer will be a multi-millionaire anyway.
"Why is there such a big attraction with London? It would be different if it was Chelsea, Arsenal or maybe Tottenham, but when they go to a smaller club just because it's in London, then it's clearly because of the shops."
Keane, who guided Premier League new boys Sunderland to an opening day win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, said the north-east club had missed out on signing a player because his wife wanted to move to London.
"Their priorities are not the same as mine. We will do the best for our players' families, but we've had a player this summer who didn't even ring us back because his wife wanted to move to London. And shopping was mentioned. It might astonish many people, but it's true," he said.

Just been reading to that on the BBC site mate ... Great minds and all that.

I actually like Roy Keane as he talks sense and is down to earth. I can see him refusing the manure job in the future if he thinks it's not right for him.

As for the article, he's 100% spot on.

"Keano" never listened to his wife - he just thumped her instead.

I always thought he was fair on Liverpool as well, unlike some *Neville* of his teammates. Hope he does well at Sunderland really.

        Shaggy? Was/is Keane a wifebeater?

Lots of people get arrested, Shaggy. I don't think the "no smoke without fire" argument is fair, even for an erstwhile hero of Manchester United.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I fully agree with Keane here and he's a breath of fresh air, I believe he will do very well as a manager. I really see him going places, he's honest, he speaks his mind and he doesn't take bull****. In comparison to Mourinho he's more down my alley, Mourinho being a total cockstain. I'm glad when he's gone, useless fecker lol

He seems very down to earth and isn't disrespectful like Mourinho.

Yes but it's early days. Mourinho seemed OK at first.

I disagree, I thought from day one he was an arrogant prick. However I agree that it 'got worse'. Now he's a flailing rabbit or something

I quite liked it when all he did was attack Ferguson and Wenger. Now however the novelty's gone and he's very irritating.

Either way we agree he's more annoying than he used to be and that's what will happen to Keane I expect unless (a) he is, in our eyes, always entirely respectful to LFC (which is impossible if he's a rival manager) or (b) becomes LFC manager (which is unlikely but not altogether impossible I suppose).
