To be honest they have needed a left sided player for ages. If they need a CM they want a defensive player to make up for the frailty of the others.

I will get mocked for this but Jenas, Tainio, Malbranque et al created a lot of chances last season and they will do so again. Spurs problems is that they leak goals. Technically they have a lot of good centrebacks but with King injured they have no leader at the back and no screen in front of the back four in midfield.

They lack balance as their left hand side both fullback and in midfield has been weak for ages. at the back Bale is probably the long term solution but they have absolutely no one suited to played left midfield.

I'd agree that they should probably muddle through the centreback crisis as they have loads of capable players at the club and long term they are strong in that area. But a left sided player or Claude Makelele type would make a big difference for them.

If they lose tomorrow to scum, which would make 3 defeats in 4 in the league, I'm sure the pressure will start mounting again

I used to like jol but when they only finished 5th after getting knocked out of both cups in the 1st round and having no european footy meant they only played 40 matches in an entire season realised he is actually ****.

There's a good article in today's guardian about Jol and the fact that he's been thwarted many times to sign players he wanted in the transfer market. I just think he's a terrific manager and that Spurs' board is notorious for bad management. This club needs stability and they are run by muppets.

I have seen nothing to conclude that he's an terrific manager in the EPL. Had good players, done ok, but nothing more.

I think thats a bit harsh, I believe he has done a great job at spurs, they have been under achievers for a very long time now...he has got good players in and despite some dodgy purchases I think he has got a very good team there now. Its a little bit pointless either way for me as whilst I think hes done a good job I really couldnt care less, just from a neutral point of view I cant imagine any manager in the world getting spurs any better. 5th is the best they, or any team outside the "big 4" can expect. In my opinion.

                frankly **** spurs

if the guardian article is correct then spurs are being run as a joke in order to profit from its resale- i'm guessing that younger players are considered more valuable as assets

for me, jol is not in the same class as the managers above him and i'd suggest that only berbatov would get into our squad (maybe king or dawson at the moment, but they're injured too)

how many of them would get in arsenal's squad? again not too many

i think they bought bent in the knowledge that at the end of this season berbatov will do one to man u- they were linked last season and throughout the summer.

having said all that- i'll be a proper spurs fan this afternoon
