    Seven penalties in fifteen years

    SEVEN PENALTIES IN FIFTEEN YEARS!
    27/08/2007

There have only been seven penalties awarded against Manchester United at Old Trafford since the Premier League was formed 15 years ago.

The last one given to a visiting side at Old Trafford came on March 17 this year against Bolton, when Gary Speed scored from the spot late on as United won 4-1.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Wow. Shows how much a decision can be influced...or how stellar united's defending is!

That is no surprise and it's an absolute joke.

How does our record compare? Lampard this season....any last season? Can't think of any?

We won the fair play league last season and i think only gave away one penalty.

I think it's also a reflection that SCUM have been the dominant team in the Premiership oer that time period. Teams just sit back when they go there for fear of losing 7-0. The SCUM have had such pace that if you attack them they will kill you on the counter.
I remember when someone asked Kenny about the fact that we get more penalties than any other team in 87/88. His answer was "That's because the ball is in the opponents penalty area most of the time".

having said that i wonder how many legit opposition penalties have been turned down (like yesterday).

Linesman bottled it and was not concentrating.
                We come not to play.

3 pens there last year. 2nd most in the league.

If we won 9 prem titles in 15 years i think the gutter press would be saying the same about us or some other ****e.

2 of which were conveniently given when Utd were 4-0 up, meanwhile when only 2 up and being dominated by Sheff Utd Heinze is allowed to absolutely maul Luton Shelton when through on goal and **** all is given when it should of been a red and a penalty, but then that would of made it a tense match late into the title race so was never going to happen.

And what about that Middlesboro one? Forget who it was but it was in stoppage time and the most nailed on penalty ever, nothing given.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Gv-F8d_Qhw around 5minutes 10 seconds, was never going to be given in stoppage time at 1-1

The fact that there were three penalties given at OT last season makes this "seven in fifteen years" stat even more incredulous. So that's four penalties over the other 14 years.

One was Juninho's for Boro, which he missed

I remember because Stam, Keane and G. Neville chased Andy D'Urso round the stadium. ****ing SCUM

I think another 'boro player missed one there at some point.

Wasn't that the one where Barthez put him off by kicking both goal posts?

You follow them far to closely, you remember more than me on the subject.

However there have been 10 penalties at Old Toilet in the prem, i just searched it. Poor research from the mirror journo, what a surprise.
