We will have to wait and see if he is doing the right thing. They already have problems to sign up top class players because the word is spreading how this deal has been handled by Del Nido and that can be very bad for the club long term.

Turning down £25m isn't doing a good job IMO. He could have taken the money and signed up two quality players and walked away looking like an excellent business man, now he is stuck with an unhappy player that may never play for them again.

I don't want him anymore. I would rather sign Van der Vaart and Lahm for more or less the same kind of money. He can stay in Sevilla and pick up his £40k/week if he want. It was he who signed on the dotted line without having the £18m fee included in his contract. He should have known better, or at least his agent, that you need more than a verbal agreement.

His agent is the real winner if they can sell him because he gets a share of the money everytime Alves signs a new deal.

Ehhh, it was Del Nido who said hours after Puerta had been rushed to the hospital that Alves should stay to help them cope with the loss of Puerta. He could at least have waited two, three days after the game before he said that as a respect to Puerta and his family but I agree with that they deserve each other.
