Milito will probably start most games with Milito and Oliveira upfront with Sergio Garcia as their backup. Oliveira on loan from Milan could be a great signing.

4-2-3-1 is also an option, they are apparently looking into Valencia's Juan Mata on a loan before the season is up so he'd give them a good winger or second striker.

    So

    Zapater--Gabi/Matuzalem
    D'Allesandro--Aimar
    Milito------Oliveira

    could turn into

    ----Zapater---Matuzalem/Gabi
    -Lafita----Aimar---Mata
    ----------Milito

which would be pretty neat too as they'd get some width. I doubt Valencia would want to give him to a potential rival though.

Zaragoza seem to be pretty shrewd, definately capable of a top 6 finish, maybe even break into the top four if Sevilla can't cope with recent events + the CL.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Riquelme on Merseyside for Everton talks
        tribalfooball.com - August 30, 2007

Everton are in talks with Villarreal midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme.

The Daily Mail says Riquelme, the Argentina playmaker, flies into Merseyside today for last-gasp transfer window talks with Everton.

Riquelme, 29, unsettled at Villarreal and seemingly on his way to Atletico Madrid, is considering the offer of a one-year loan deal.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I thought they'd already signed him?

There is no way that he will join Everton. I can see Tottenham making an offer for him if he is available on loan and maybe Newcastle.

It looks like he is looking for backup options, and Atletico is a good one if his dream move to Everton fails.

I hope Everton sign him. He'll flop horribly in this league and it would be funny to see another bubble burst for the bluenoses.

It looks settled he'll be playing for Atleti.

Oh and going back to the Zaragoza news it looks like they'll be selling Movilla and getting Luccin another decent midfielder

With Lopez, Seitaridis and Pernia I as well I though they could push for a top six finish if the new signings gel (which they won't and their manager will get sacked and another one will come and sign a bunch of players who wont gel either and will therefore get the sack as well).

You can get 16/1 on Athletico to win the UEFA Cup.

Apparently the deal has fallen through. Riquelme is going to be at Villarreal and not playing by the looks of it. Until Jan anyway.

FIFA will probably allow him to move to Boca on loan after a month or two if he hasn't played anything. It has happened before.

Atletico Madrid have struck personal terms with Villarreal midfield ace Juan Roman Riquelme.

Cadena Ser says the Argentina international is set to move to the Vicente Calderon with the two clubs having already settled on a fee during negotiations over Diego Forlan's move to Atletico last month.

Riquelme's Atletico deal is for two years with the option of a third. The contract is worth £3.5 million-a-year - a cool £1.5 million-a-year less than what he was on at Villarreal.
Superb stuff as Atlético is my Spanish fav club
