Do fast players in other sports, such as rugby, have the same level of injuries that that type of footballer does?

It is interesting that so many good strikers who rely on pace/acceleration seem to be exceptionally injury prone over any decent length of career. Also players like Ashley Cole seem to suffer as well. I wonder whether it is the nature of football or a feature of sports more generally.

Strikers that rely on their pace must stop and start their runs very often in high pace. Sprinters have the same problem for example.

That is what you must count in when you sign a very quick striker. He will get hamstring injuries more or less every season so you must have a good backup so you can rest him more often and replace him when he is injured.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

would they, i mean they didn't loan out dos santos last year, neither did they loan out messi before he broke through, my point is that he's 17 do you really think they will use him allot this season???

But last year they could play in the "B" team which got relegated so they are playing at a lower standard, would probably rather loan players out if they weren't going to use them - agree with AF on this one.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
