HAve the manc's robbed our best midfield in the world song too?
First the bitters, now the mancs? can they ever think of their own songs?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

They do rob our songs and change the words - why, I'll never know, as they're paying us a backhanded compliment - but in this instance they're off the hook, I reckon.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostHAve the manc's robbed our best midfield in the world song too?

I THINK they're singing "follow follow follow, cos United are going to Moscow"

They were singing that a lot when the final was scheduled to be in Glasgow.

Yeah those foreigners!Originally posted by Cisseshairdresser View PostJebus! That place really is a zoo. I checked out a few other other threads and it really does just accentuate the prawn sandwich brigade stereotype, foreigners / glory hunters who know nothing about MUFC or football. Its embarrassing for them and it makes me realise how lucky I was / am to have been raised a Red.

It just shows they lack the class and the ingenuity of Liverpool fans. We create songs and sing them for the love and passion of the club whilst the Scum do it for mockery and their own stupidity.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostThey do rob our songs and change the words - why, I'll never know, as they're paying us a backhanded compliment - but in this instance they're off the hook, I reckon.

Their version of 'We won it five times' is:
'We won it two times,
We won it two tiiiimes,
Without killing anyone,
We won it two times'
Number one, singing that you won it two times isn't much of an achievement as winning it five times and when did we win the European Cup in 1985?
Dumb ****ers

Well of course they are - most 'tunes' are shared out, so to speak, and heard all over the country, but the Mancs clearly go out of their way to nick our tunes. I think they reckon it "ruins" ours. As soon as we come out with a 'new' one - BAM - the Mancs are singing one of their (usually poisonous) pastiches.Originally posted by DJS View PostTo be honest, most footie songs are just alternate versions of something else...
Who made up Campione? Wasnt us, that's for sure...
Another thing is, when we 'nick' chants, we tend to nick 'em from Europe, so they're new to the 'terraces' of this country.
"Liiiiiiiiiiiverpool, Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiverpool" is one, 'Campione' another.
You can normally guarantee once we've 'introduced' a new song, different versions will start popping up everywhere. Every ****er sings 'Ring of Fire' now - even cricket crowds FFS. The 'Five Times' tune is being used by a few others now too.
And of course plenty sing 'YNWA'.
It bugs me but it's a backhanded compliment. Mavericks on and off the pitch.
