    Loaning goalies!

Apologies if this has been discussed before but sitting watching the Villa/Chavs game today it occured to me just how wrong it is to loan goalies out to teams in the same division as yourself. Liverpool loaned Scotty out not with a view to selling him but to get him into the England team. He is still very much our player and I think he signed a fairly long contract extension last year. He wasn't allowed to figure against us on the opening day and isn't available for the return.
The scum did it last year with Foster and may have done it again with Foster(if he wasn't crocked) and even Krucsiak. That may have meant that they were facing a genuine first team goalie for four games less than their nearest rivals.
If you take my argument to it's ridiculous hypothetical conclusion what's to stop the chavs buying up all the best keepers of the world with the lure of big wages and then loaning them out to other clubs outside the top four? Liverpool, Arsenal and Man U would be facing Buffon, Casillas et al every week while they'd be raining in shots on someone like Billy Casper out of Kes.
It is,with footy being the weird thing it is, only a matter of time before this causes some major ****. For example, say we were well clear on Jan 1st of everybody except Chelsea who are say 6pts adrift. Middlesborough, who we'd still have to play twice, are in the midst of a goalkeeping crisis.
Chelsea decide to loan Cudicini to Boro for the remainder of the season. This totally legal and possible. Any thoughts anyone?
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I never really thought about goalkeepers being any different than the rest of the squad.

I think as long as the loan system is as ethical as possible then nobody can have any complaints.

I would be extremely pissed off if for example Chelsea loaned an entire back four to a team but then had to field a second choice back four against Chelsea but not for everybody else. I know thats extreme but you get my point.

Perhaps only one player per side could be loaned to one particular team at any one time. (So Villa couldn't take one of our many midfielders on loan because they already have Carson.)
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
