        Summer 2007
During the summer of 2007 the Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara tried to convince FC Barcelona to lend them Giovani for a year, in order to give him first division experience and the joy to play for the first time in the Primera División de México, both FC Barcelona and Giovani rejected the offer.

Giovani also won the Bronze Ball at the 2007 U-20 World Cup in Canada. He started practicing with the Barcelona first team on the 22 of July. He is required to take a physical but other than that it looks like the young U-17 World Cup Champion will see action for the 2007-2008 season.

Dos Santos has enjoyed an impressive pre-season with Barcelona, scoring four goals in five games, making him the sides leading goal scorer with one goal above Ronaldinho. His pre-season performances have earned him a man of the match award against Yokohama F. Marinos, as well as praise from Rijkaard and his fellow team-mates. In the 4-0 match against Mission Hills Invitation XI (a joint team of two HK local soccer clubs) at the Mission Hills Cup on 11 Aug 2007, he also scored one goal at the second half in the Hong Kong Stadium.

On 29 of August, 2007, Giovani received dual nationality from the Spanish Constitution. He can now be part of the community team. This keeps him from being part of the three non-EU players allowed to play.On That Same day he scored a goal against Inter Milan and FC Barcelona went on to win 5-0

Dos Santos is now subject of a £10 million offer from English Premier League team Manchester City.

              It's Chelsea.

Dos Santos isn't worth £20m right now but he will be that in a few years time.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If you have £20 Million to spare then this kid is worth it, in a few years time he is going to be a sensation.

He wont be as good as Messi.

If that boy can stay fit for the next 2-3 years, he'll be the best in the world.

Thought he was ****ing fantastic last weekend.
