£9m is good value for a fit player of Owen's calibre, he is an excellent finisher but he is too reliant on a big man like Heskey to create the space for him, hold the ball up for him etc.
He is quite limited all things considered, finishing prowess excepted.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

I used to feel sorry for him seeing as how his career has gone down the pan.Originally posted by carrsim View Posthe'll probably have a twinge until 2 weeks before the next england game

But seeing him tonight and considering how being at Newcastle is allowing him to concentrate solely on his international career which is probably what he wants and is more than happy with, the last thing he needs is any sympathy

surely none? barry has been immaculate in 2 games and has 3 assists.Originally posted by Kilteragh View PostChances of Lampard getting back in the team after these two displays?

Barry isn't really good enough, but a player of his ilk, who helps keep posession, can tackle a bit is preferable to Lampard. Carrick, again pretty average, or Hargreaves would be a better choice along side stevie. People have been saying it for ages but it might actually happen now, fingers crossed.Originally posted by Kilteragh View PostChances of Lampard getting back in the team after these two displays?Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

that's the key. they seem to understand each others game, whereas stevie and frank look like total strangers when they play- maybe stevie's comment about being good mates with barry (and he bigs him up in his book as well) carries some weight in this case- ie stevie also thinks lampard is a c*** like the rest of us.
hargreaves is just a headless chicken for me."At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"

He has always offered an option to the player in possession and has kept the ball exceptionally. He is good with set pieces as well which is a real asset.Originally posted by Operation View PostBarry isn't really good enough, but a player of his ilk, who helps keep posession, can tackle a bit is preferable to Lampard.
