      Well, well, well.

England have been really good. This team has outperformed anything that mcclown has put out previously.

It's been noticable though that all of the russian attacks have come down our right side and 9 times out of 10, SWP has been the one confronting the winger. Where is Micah? Seems positionally challenged!

They've been playing the long ball up to heskey alot and bypassing the midfield, even so, Barry and Sir Stevie have been there when they were needed.

SO, the big question is does mcclown have the balls to play this same team when Beckham, Fat Frank and Rooney are available. I don't think he has and I'll think england will be worse off for it.

barry has always been brilliant for me. i saw one of his first ever games for villa when he played in their back 3 and i was really impressed with his passing. villa got into trouble for poaching him from brighton and had to pay about 1million for him.

        he's not the quickest mind!

I watched him in a few villa games last season and he just went missing too much. He did very well in the last game and this, but I don't think his has the passing range or skill on the ball to be first choice. It's a bit like when Ledley king played there. If he keeps playing like this, then it's fair enough.

He's also tracked back really well. A couple of times when the centre halves ****ed up he has bailed them out. I've been really suprised how well he has played seeing as how he's been painted as a left back / left midfielder.

if we ever signed barry i'd have no complaints at all- good defender, good pro, wand of a left foot and no pace.

              he's basically steve staunton

Not seen all that much of him but he never seems to show in the really big matches for Villa. I guess a lot of it has to do with the quality of other players around him. Has shone alongside Gerrard.

On the basis of the last two games he deserves to have the CM role for the next few games. It is between him and Hargreaves long term, but Hargreaves has to prove he is the same player after his leg break.

Just to point out that the £9m release clause isn't valid in the January window. It's only valid in the summer transfer windows and next summer it will be down to £6m.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Looks like Scotland are getting battered! France have had 75% posession

We're hanging in there though. We're waiting for McFadden (boo) to get one in the last 10 mins
