Arsenal stun Man Utd, Chelsea with rich-list claim

Arsenal stun Man Utd, Chelsea with rich-list claim
    tribalfooball.com - September 15, 2007

Arsenal are set to announce themselves as the world's second richest club - behind only Real Madrid.

The Mail on Sunday says the Gunners will announce financial figures that place them above Manchester United and Chelsea - let alone Spurs - and behind only Real Madrid in the list of the world's richest clubs.

Arsenal's total turnover of all the business the club generate, it will be revealed, has shot up to about £180m,about £22m behind Real Madrid, while United's turnover stands at £167m. That is an increase of almost 50 per cent in just one season, such has been the effect of moving to the Emirates Stadium.

No wonder their currently buoyant board of directors, who believe that they can even surpass Real financially next season, can rebuff potential investors.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Hardly surprising when you see how much hospitality boxes The Emirates holds.

Only good news for our future with our own new stadium coming our way

It will certainly massively improve our match day income but I can't see us getting anywhere near the figures that are mentioned here.

We'll never be able to charge anything like the ticket prices that Arsenal do, plus the Emirates has more boxes than our new ground seems to.

Looking at the boxes in our new stadium we will have about 58 compared to their 100. Also they charge £1100 for a season ticket, compared to our average of £600. Even with the extra seats they will be making more money on match days than us.

is there the demand for 100 boxes? does the 58 include those bunker boxes that have been spoken about? why are arsenals season tickets neqrly double ours? sorry about all the questions.
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

                Arsenal...London

                Liverpool, not London

                  Good point.

I heard they charge loads for their food as well. Boxes will make loads for them as well. I thought they were £250 million in debt.

Yeah they are £350m in debt but when they sell the development on their old ground they will get back £190m.

The bunker boxes are the idea of having your main box where people sit and watch the game and lower/behind you have the suite where they sit, eat and chill. Doesn't make a dif to the number of boxes. All our boxes will be in 1 stand (the stand with 12,000 poeple in), hold 1,000 people and be over 3 levels. I hope when we apply for a bigger capacity more boxes are added. Saying that, it may not be possible to do so. I would say that our match day income would not be too far behind Arsenals if we get approx 78,000 capacity but it would be below theirs so naming rights would have to offer more cash than their along with some other idea's. Another problem will be we will be in far more debt than them, but less than utd with the chance of making more money than them. I am confident that we will start to catch up now and after the new ground opens potentially pass them in this area.

Yes, at times Emirates doesn't look packed out. I think the amount of Liverpool fans around the world will help our matchday capacities and season tickets.

Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.

It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

I'm just saying that to keep attendence high you need to be embracing fans not putting them off. The amount of horror stories I hear from our international fan base on trips back home are frightening.

You don't get the same thing at Arsenal.
