It's almost like Owen has planned it to perfection - join a mid-ranking Premiership team so he at least is playing regular games in a top league while not playing many truly meaningful fixtures - thus allowing him to focus on his international career.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostWatched Derby V the Toon tonight, wished I hadn't, but anyway to the point; Owen came off after an hour with Newcastle 1 down and he couldn't have looked less interested if he tried.
Of course it wasn't an In-Ger-land game.....:whatever:
The guy has basically sacrificed his club career for the sake of his England one

The lad did us proud while he wore the red shirt, so he should be respected for that. The theorists amongst us like to bleat about his departure, stabbed us in the back etc, but I have only ever read these stories on internet forums or in the likes of the mirror or star (News?)papers and we all know that they tell the truth.
A little respect for his achievents would not be difficult, nor hurt. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

This can be about any player.
If a player has been out injured for 18 months then he will get injured a little now and then when he returns and starts playing again because the body isn't used to play week in week out.
It's then up to the manager how much he is prepared to risk the player.
Eto'o is a good example and Cisse another.

Have a nice day.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

top post brother. i've always thought that people who don't rate owen as a top striker either really don't know what they're talking about, have totally forgotten what he was like for us or have their judgement totally clouded by stupid notions of loyalty etc. i wish him well and would love to see him back in a red shirt.Originally posted by kev776 View PostThe lad did us proud while he wore the red shirt, so he should be respected for that.
