    Attention Welsh Fans....

Did you see that Dave Cotterill has signed for Wigan for £2m?

I go down the Gate to see Bristol City play quite often & it was a shame to see him go....but £2m for a youngster (just 18) is loads for a Div 1 club.

For those that don't know, he broke Gigg's record to be the youngest debutant for the full Wales team. He is a very pacy winger who can score too.

It'll be good to see if he makes it in the premiership....IMO he blows hot and cold at present and often triees to do too much...he has loads of ability though.

    You guys know of him?

I've not heard much about him but it's good news that he's gone to Wigan. Hopefully he can really improve with them, playing against better quality opposition is bound to help.

Bristol City are a bit short of players at the moment; him sold and another 3 in gaol.

I'll be interested to see how Gareth Bale gets on at Southampton too. He's only 17 and just signed a 2 year contract. If he continues to improve this season I expect him to be snapped up in the summer (especially if Southampton aren't promoted).

Did you see the 2 Bristol City boys fighting each other on Tuesday (on Sky Sports)....muppets....Bradley Orr got sent off (apparently for a head butt...though the ref was looking the other way ).

He's one of the 3 that's been sent to prison (also for fighting)....He's a Scouser mind, so no surprise

Yes I had heard of him before he signed for Wigan because of his involvement with the Welsh u21's & senior squads.

Where was his staring position at BC then, was it right wing?

Just seen that Gareth Bale's been named as the Championship player of the month for August.

He was played either on the left or right wing, he is pretty versatile....usually the left though.

In his last game for City (that televised one last Tuesday) he beat 3 or 4 players before he was brought down for a pen (too quick for the defender)

Yeah I watched that game he was pretty impressive.

Is his potential worth the £2m that Wigan paid for him?

POTENTIALLY....he undoubtedly has immense ability, however, he runs hot an cold and always seems to look to do one trick too many, often at the expense of the killer early ball etc.....

Under the right manager he could do very well....& he is only just 18.

£2m is alot for potential though.....having said that £5 for Diao & Cheyrou is not cleaver in hindsight either....the majority off transfers have a gamble element to them.

In 2 years time, if he rips up the PL then £2m will be considered peanuts....
