What annoys me, really gets me wound up, is the conviction with which they carry themselves. Clearly a referee has to exude a certain amount of assured-ness, but the arrogance of them is just simply infuriating.

That is the 2 biggest games of the season so far completely marred by the ineptitude of the league's "officials". Something obviously needs to give.

His smug look afterwards made me want to slap him. He's obviously "red card happy", probably gets off by putting other people down.

Some refs have a stricter interpretation of the laws than others. Makes for some major inconsistency, which is annoying.

I don't think it's any coincidence that most of them look like weedy little gimps. The only authority they command is done so through the presence of a whistle round their neck (Howard Webb aside, IMO). It would be great if referees were people who footballers, managers and fans alike, were able to respect, not some ****in bully victim who couldn't cut it as a footballer.

don't get me wrong, i'm sure there'll be some, but they'll be mixed in with all the other 'normal refs' if we were going to do something like this, imo you'd have to sack all the current refs and bring in a brand new crop of ex-player refs, but in practice that probably wouldn't work
