    Know much about Lyon?

Seen then play, albeit only a couple of times this season, but three players stood out for me...

Karim Benzema, Hatem Ben Arfa and Mathieu Bodmer.

Benzema looks very exciting, quick and runs at defenders, quite direct and very skillful too. Ben Arfa seems slightly less direct and more 'silky', good touch and flair, controls the ball and sees openings. Bodmer looks more of a 'driving' central midfielder, a bit of a Gerrard/Scholes combination. Drives forward and gets ahead of the midfielders and pops up with late runs into the box from crosses etc.

Anyone seen more of them than i have? Would they cut it in england?Thoughts?

    They've looked pretty good.

Benzema has been excellent. He'll be wanted by Europe's big clubs soon.

Kim Kallstrom still plays for them, he is pretty good with the ball
Juninho Pernambuchano (sp?) is the best free kick taker I have seen in a long time, sorry David Beckham

Kallstrom's another average/mediocre-ok player. Nowt to see there.

Juninho's days are numbered, but yes, superb from free kicks.

Probably why Valencia, Real and Barcelona tried to sign him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Does Govou still play for them?

We've been linked with him a few times in the past?

Not sure if he's ever been up to much though.

Wasn't he meant to be compared with our Stevie? Shows how mediocre he is

We were linked with Kallstrom when GH was in charge.

He was supposed to be the next big thing.

Anytime I've seen him play he looks distinctly average.

Depends when you seen him. He pretty much is the heartbeat of the Lyon side. At Sweden, they undermime him for some reason and play players like Anders Svensson and Nicklas Alexandersson.

I know that we have a very strange manager.

I've seen him play for Sweden more than Lyon.

I'm guessing that these performances don't do justice to his real talent.

Nope, totally different. Its like asking an outsider to see whether Gerrard is good when he plays for England, if you know what I am trying to say?

                              Got it in one Ben.

A better player for club than country like so many other modern players.
