What do you mean by "tried"?

When clubs like that really "try" to sign somebody, they generally do.

Valencia offered £12m for him but Lyon turned them down. Bacelona signed Toure instead and Real signed Sneijder.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

              Obviously you rate Kallstrom AF.

How would you rate him in terms of other major European midfielders?

Is he as good as Xavi, Sneijder, Pirlo etc?

I know that they'll beat Rangers

Mind you I could do that

So, instead of "trying" to sign Kallstrom, you could have said:

Valencia weren't willing to offer more than £12 million and Real and Barcelona went elsewhere.

Is that an endorsement of his credentials?

FWIW, I think Kallstrom is a decent player without uprooting any trees.

I think he is an excellent hard working central/left sided midfielder. He won't deliver fancy flicks and tricks but he will always do a very good job on the pitch.

                      Like Sissoko do for us.

Not sure if he's ever been up to much though.
Yes, he's still there. He scored vs Lille a week ago.

No, definitely not. Like AFII said Kallstrom is hard working, but nothing special. He's not even a regular starter at Lyon.

Lyon is by the Rhone and Saone rivers if I remember correctly. Its a pleasant city - I think the second biggest in France. Well worth a visit.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Benzema was class again tonight. Looks a superb prospect. Probably already very costly.

LFC should really hire me as a scout

They are all French nationals so won't be playing in the African Cup

Kallstrom is a good player but I don't think he could cut it in the premiership. He would be decent in an average side here. Good player, but not good enough, IMO.
