Each time I've seen him he's been solid defensively and a decent outlet for them attacking wise. He's a bit like our own Stevie Finnan, very underrated.

I'm waiting on why you think he's crap.

I'm with you Fredo. I think he is a pretty decent player, can be suspect in defence on occasions but not dangerously bad and is very good going forward. Bit like our own ginger bad man

Who has a better quartet of strikers? Please don't say us...

He has no sense of positioning.

He moves forward far too often and leaves the gap in behind.

He doesn't pick up his man.

His timing is poor hence some of the og's he has scored.

              And that's just for starters...

                Goodnight.

I did wonder that myself as I was reading it.
                Oh I don't know.

                  WFT? Everton challenging for anything?

I would say it is fair to say that this is true in a way. I like him he is a decent but not great wide defender who is good in the air and constructive with the ball and has a good engine. I would say though that he should probably be classed as one of the best attacking right backs in the PL. Although partly this is due to a dearth of really top quality players.

If he was in a team with a solid and experienced CBs and a good holding midfield player he would shine and under a more defensively minded manager he would improve in defence.

I'd rather have our four than theirs.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I'm not sure he does - he asked for a holding midfielder and got Zakora and has by all accounts begged for a left winger to no effect. Part of the problem is that he has not been allowed to shape his own squad, if he was doing the player choice and not Comolli then he would deserve a lot of criticism as it is I think he has done well but not exceptionally well.

They do need a new CB I agree with you there. I think this has been a major problem for them when King is injured.

I actually think if they had a holding midfielder they would be transformed as all of their midfielders look uncomfortable defending but have to do a job. They score a lot of goals and freed from defensive duties more I think players like Jenas and Zakora would be a lot more effective for them.

I don't believe that their striking quartet is all it is made out to be. I like Keane and Berbatov looked good last season but now people know about him he looks pretty average. Defoe flatters to decieve but make a very good sub and may have improved but it is hard to tell when he gets so little game time. Bent is a good role player who can do a job for almost any team but he doesn't really fit their team style. It is a good quartet but actually I would prefer ours if given a choice.

I think I would as well to be honest, Torres just makes that much of a difference for me.
