If Rio Ferdinand had been Jamie Carragher's partner for the last 4 years

We'd have won the league in that time. He is a despicable **** and i wouldn't want him in the shirt, but having watched him tonight i think the two would have been perfect together. Now Agger's coming through and Carra's coming towards the end of his career (ish), it's a shame with the timing the two could never play together in their peaks.

Now Agger and Richards could be a partnership for some years to come

He's massively over-rated. He has lapses in concentration and is often troubled by strong, powerful strikers ie Yakubu, Duncan Ferguson a few year ago.
Don't get me wrong i'm not saying he's ****, he's a class act on his day but still he's way, way over-hyped and is found wanting at vital moments in certain games.

      Not having this at all.

Talented player, obviously. But he's a dodgy character.

What kind of muppet smashes the ball into his home crowd?

      Total ******.

Will be forgotten about in 30 years.

I though Carra was only 29 - not even at his peak for a CB surely. He has at least four years at the top if he continues to look after himself.

29 not even at his peak? You've got to be kidding. Will be out of the side when he's 32/33. Really slow centre backs get exposed these days, Carra will hardly be Jesse Owens at 33 i'd suggest.

Carra has never had pace mate. He can't get much slower

Ferdinand thinks he is a world class defender; its his massive weakness. He has a massive ego and if Fergie can't deflate, who can?!

I'd take Carra anyday, he has heart and plays by using his brain something Rio lacks

Making him captain suggests he doesn't want to deflate it. I hate Rio with a passion more than any other footballer, my local has a picture of him advertising some watch, always tempted to do a tom cat around the bog and splash his ugly mug.

                  Ferdinand is ****ing overrated.

Half decent, but most would look decent in the Manure side.

He's a liability because he thinks he can walk around players with the ball and he can't. And he is a **** passer.

Carra should be the number 1 CB in the england team, not that ****ed up hair-do, shagged my knee on the coffee table ****.

Dunno about him winnning us the league but hes certainly a world class centreback, he was flawless tonight against one of the strongest attacking sides in europe and i recall he was the one who held it all together at the back at Anfield last season against us when Vidic was being tossed around by Bellamy.

Yeah because we've had such a **** defence over the last four years haven't we?

It's been our lack of goals over those years that have cost us a title shot, not the defence.

To be fair moving the ball out of defence to start quick counter attacks has been part of the problem, however Ferdinand for all his obvious qualities is one of the least thoughtful defenders in the PL. I don't think this would make him an ideal fit for the way Rafa likes to construct a team.
