Not every player will suit every team. Just because one manager doesnt rate him, or consider him suitable for his way of playing, doesnt mean he's no good.
I want and demand world class signings from now on, just look at what the extra bit of spending got us with Torres

How do you explain Mascherano and WHU?Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostSimplistic and true.

The mancs deemed RvN as being 'not good enough' for them anymore...and he's a world class goalscorer/finisher.
Whether or not you rate Defoe is purely down to opinions and if you dont rate him, that's fair enough. I think he's good, but certainly not world class.
However, what i'm arguing with is this idea that just because someone cant get into another club's first XI, it means he isnt good enough for us. Because it doesnt.
Sorry but it's nonsense.

Defoe is a good player, if you ask me would i want him i would say no DJS. I would like a player like Eto'o or David Villa
Not complete nonsence just my opinion and frustration that up until this year we have never bought a world class striker just went to Lidl and bought average players
NOTE: i know we have had two great player in Owen and Fowler in his prime before his injury but they were home grownWhen you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

Mate, i'm not saying i would TAKE defoe, i'm not sure.Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostDefoe is a good player, if you ask me would i want him i would say no DJS. I would like a player like Eto'o or David Villa

BUT, the point i'm making is, if i WOULDNT take him, it wouldnt be because he doesnt get in the Spurs side, and because this AUTOMATICALLY makes him not good enough for us. Because i dont think it does.
If Defoe is indeed not good enough for us, then it is the case REGARDLESS of whether he gets into the Spurs side or not. The two are independent of each other mate.
I too would love Eto'o or Villa, but i dont see us realistically getting either of them and if indeed we cant get either of those two, it doesnt mean we should just forget signing ANYONE.
