How come they get away with tapping up other players/managers so much?

Ajax are unhappy with Henk ten Cate over his imminent move to Chelsea.

Ten Cate is in talks with Chelsea about joining the club's coaching staff after The Blues agreed a compensation deal with Ajax on Monday.

The former Barcelona assistant manager is expected to seal his move to Stamford Bridge in the next few days where he is expected to work alongside Avram Grant.

Ajax's technical director Martin van Geel says the club are not happy at how the move for ten Cate has come about

    Approached
"Henk spoke with Chelsea a week last Thursday. The following Tuesday Henk approached the board and said he wanted to go to Chelsea," Van Geel told The Sun.

"Henk presented it to us as a fact and we didn't have any choice.

"We didn't want to work with a coach who had his mind at Chelsea.

"Things should have been done differently. I don't want to say more."

I think largely because everyone does it and so no one feels particularly able to make a stand against it. It would be foolish to imagine we are free from suspicion from this. In fact didn't Aaron Lennon's dad make some comment to that effect during the whole ludicrouse Cisse/Defoe confrontation between Rafa and Spurs.

Nobody makes a stance because every team at some point have done this to some players. If any team makes a big fuss it is easy for other teams to come up with incriminating evidence. I am pretty confident that managers talk to players before making big money bids. I remember Torres telling in an interview how he got a call from Rafa when he was talking a walk during the beginning of summer.
