    Bolton

Admittedly this isn't a very interesting topic of conversation, but there is something about what's going on at Bolton that has me wondering what the **** they are doing.

When Gartside gave Sammy Lee the job he said he was going to be a better manager than Allardyce and that Bolton would start playing a better brand of football.

Yet after such acclaim, support and praise they sack him after 9 games. No doubt they got twitchy because of Bolton's poor start coupled with Sammy's lack of experience and that he has no track record as a manager.

I'm sure they are concerned that Bolton might go down.

So what do they do? Do they approach proven, successful managers? No - they go after Steve Bruce, Chris Coleman, Gary Megson, all of whom have been either relegated or sacked or both. Seems bizarre to me. If you're going after such sketchy managers, why not just give Sammy a fair crack of the whip?

By all accounts, Sammy lost the dressing room. As soon as you lose the dressing room you are sacked. Simple as that.

Gary Speed runs the dressing room then?

I read that he wasn't happy about having to step down as player-coach to player again.
Maybe he was being a disruptive influence.
      Bluenose *******.

True enough. I heard the same - fell out with Gary Speed. But why are they going for people with so little pedigree to replace him? Seems like Speed fancied himself as something of a manager by all accounts so why not give the job to him?

Apparently there was an issue with captain too, can't remember his name ( a no mark obviosuly).

Kevin Nolan is a scouser and a massive Liverpool fan so I wouldn't call him a no-mark...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

Each to their own. Just 'cos he's a scouser, doesn't mean he can't be a no-mark!

Always thought Big Sam would be a tough act to follow and it can't be easy for a first-time manager going in there and trying to rally round the Veteran players that Bolton have, even their younger-uns having been there for quite some time.

Bolton chairman is a bit of a bellend, but to be fair I doubt the club is capable of attracting managers at the level above Coleman, Bruce, Megson or any of that sort of ilk.

I thought it was strange that they were interested in Coleman, Bruce and Megson because none exactly inspire confidence into the fans.

I expect the name of Souness to be thrown into the frame very shortly!
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
