    Steve Coppell

...as a replacement for Staunton. Thoughts?
I saw a snippet in an online article saying he was interested:

Others in contention include Terry Venables and Steve Coppell who has privately repeated his interest in the position.

The article also says that the FAI will put together a €6m package over four years to tempt a new manager

That's over 3 times what Staunton was on! Maybe there's hope yet...

LOL, remember Bill O Herthily the other night when he had a freudian slip and said steve coppe... instead of Staunton.

Not surprised the 'in the know' journos have picked up on this!

Could be a good choice but i just dont know who i would like, sure i would like the big name like Hiddink.

I wouldnt mind Venebles but then again i dont know.

They have to get it right after what Robbie Keane said on the Late Late show on friday night

I'd take Dunphy as manager if it meant Stan was outed
Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

I think Coppell would be a good choice. Would he give up Reading for it? Hmmmm, dunno.

Was it Stephen Ireland that Keane was referring to? Must be.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

I'd say the players would love that.

I'd say Coppell could come in, if that happens then Dave O'Leary will take over at Reading

Hiddink is pie-in-the-sky. Way out of the FAI's league.

Didn't see the interview myself, but he was on the Late Late.

That a unnamed young Irish player no longer enjoys coming over.

                  Other things:
                  Don't see enough of Bobby.
Said that the booing was influenced by the media.

I kinda agree with the last two comments.

Well i think he's finding Readings 2nd season difficult they arent like they were last year and maybe he's done as much as he can with them........

Aye, that could be the case, but maybe he wants to prove himself.
Guess he's the only one who knows.....

If he leave Reading during the seaon for Ireland then he could say i just couldnt turn down this job its a fresh challenege and he will leave with a good rep.

If he stays and they go down then all the good work that he's done at Reading will be tarnished

                          Just my thinking

Turns out it's not Stephen Ireland (after watching the interview), it was someone that was there the other night.
