    Megson WTF??

Why do Bolton seem to want him so much, he couldnt get a job to save his life the last 2 years and when he did he failed at forest and is running out of leicester now to manage bolton to be fair you'd run away from manadric he would be one of the worst chairmans to have always in the media

.....surely bolton can do better then megson

I think Chris Coleman is better than Megson, I really rate Coleman in a sort of mid-table premiership manager type way.
    Megson is another Warnock IMO

I was gonna start a similar thread earlier.

      WHY?

Megson is a horrible manager. Portrays himself as some sort of disciplinarian and a 'thinker'. In reality he's just another dour hoof-merchant. If I was a Bolton fan I'd be livid about this.

Granted, Allardyce didn't have a reputation to speak of when he took the Bolton job on, and it seems Gartside is trying to repeat the trick.

Well he's sadly mistaken, IMO. Bolton were in a entirely different position when Allardyce got the job. They now need someone of a much higher calibre to get them out of trouble and then maintain what they've had in recent years.

If I were Phil Gartside, I'd be uprooting trees to land Paul Jewell.

He's proven he can keep a club in the Premiership, he doesn't take any **** and is the type of manager who can pull his squad together quickly.

What's more, the scouse connection with Nolan could lead them to establish a rapport quickly and if your manager and captain are fighting for the same cause, the rest should fall in line.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

The last desperate act of a club in freefall. It will either work magnificently or Bolton will be playing in the Championship next season.

                Megson's quit Leicester.

One funny comment from a Leicester fan on the Beeb article from 606...

"He's gone! I can take my season ticket out of the bin now."

                A deeply unpopular man.

Gary Megson is set to speak to Bolton about their vacant managerial position after parting company with Leicester.

Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric rejected two approaches from Bolton for the 48-year-old, who only took over at Leicester six weeks ago.

But in a statement on Wednesday, Mandaric said: "Gary left me no choice when he informed me he wanted to leave Leicester and talk to Bolton."

He added: "The search for a new manager begins in earnest."

Megson is expected to take charge of Bolton in time for Sunday's Premier League match against Aston Villa.

Assistant boss Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart have been put in temporary control at Leicester, who are now looking for their fourth manager of 2007.

In an emotional statement, Mandaric continued: "I made it abundantly clear that Bolton's interest was neither welcome or invited but it was evident to me following a meeting requested by Gary that his loyalties and heart lay elsewhere.

                  "Naturally I am very disappointed.

"My objectives were to stand firm in the face of mounting interest from Bolton and intense media speculation over Gary's future, but in the end these completely undermined my firm determination to retain his services.

"In point of fact it was abundantly clear to me that if I stood in Gary's way it would have a detrimental effect on the club and I was not prepared to allow that to happen."

Mandaric added that he had agreed a compensation package with Bolton - thought to be about £300,000.

Megson's last match in charge of Leicester was Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United during which he was the target of some fans' anger.

"The crowd's reaction to me towards the end wasn't particularly palatable from my point of view," Megson said.

Mandaric revealed that it was after the game that Megson requested a meeting with the Foxes chairman about his future.

Bolton have been looking for a new manager since parting company with Sammy Lee on 17 October.

Paul Jewell, Graeme Souness and Chris Coleman were all linked with the post before Megson emerged as the surprise favourite.

Before being appointed by Leicester on 13 September, Megson had been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest 18 months earlier.

Before his spell at the City Ground, Megson had also managed Norwich, Blackpool, Stockport and Stoke before a four-year reign at West Brom.

Leicester won only three of Megson's nine games in charge, and only one of those victories came in the Championship - a 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Gary Megson has always bored me to tears.
                        Zero personality about the bloke.

what a **** manager, bet he cant believe his luck at getting back into the EPL so quickly after being out in the wilderness. Saw his interview when joined Leicester and he seemed to hint at some sort of conspiracy against him getting into management.

Leicester fans will be ecstatic they got rid of him, 6 weeks long enough for them!

whilst if i were a Bolton fan i'd be getting the Road map out looking at how to get to places like Scunthorpe and Colchester (no disrespect)
