Anyone would think it was made up to cover something up and that all the journos know but are keeping schtum about it for some reason or other. Maybe it was a personal issue and is therefore regarded as not appropriate to mention...

I don't follow Paul Scholes' career very closely so maybe I've misunderstood or it does get mentioned in profiles or interviews but looking at it from here it seems strange.

            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It was a geniune blurred vision problem. He got a knock in training to the head and it snowballed by all accounts.
Also he was also having massive poblems with his asthma around the same time.

Very geniune guy, still drive a club car (Audi A8) and not at all into the trappings of a modern day footballer. Still lives somewhere near Oldham I think.

He was nearly forced to retire a couple of seasons back with his eyesight problem. At times during matches he would struggle to see beyond 20 yards or so.

One of the key reasons why he retired from International duty.

                    Seems to have recovered though.

I thought he retired as he though Sven was a prick and kept on playing him out of position. Pretty sure he retired before his eyesight became a problem
