Ireland - Who do you want?

Well, we all know the main problems at Spurs were the actual playing staff so AS A COACH, how good was Martin Jol?

He is a big personality and maybe international footy would suit him? His captain at Spurs this season was a certain Robbie Keane who he loves and his assistant (a very good one) an ex Irish international who would probably jump at the chance to come over with Jol.

Unlike Staunton, he's an intimidating figure and would command respect from everyone. He's great with the media.

And importantly, he places the emphasis on attack over defense. (this WASN'T his downfall at Spurs I stress)

    Thoughts?

Who else, George Graham and Paul Jewel being touted?

Or European coaches being talked about are Trouisser or de Haan?

Who do you want and WHY?

I think Jol and Hughton could do a job for us.

Would Jol go for international management?

Of the other contenders, I'd like to see Brady in the job.

I know he didn't have a great time at Celtic, but he's a passionate, articulate and knowledgable Irish footballing legend.

I'd certainly favour either over O' Deary O' Dreary O' Leary.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

I think Jol and Hughton would be a brilliant appointment

The timing of them both leaving Spurs might just be the wee bit of luck we need

The only downside would be that that little ****in' useless **** Keane would probably remain captain!!

Yeah Jol and Hughton seems to be the overall favourite with the fans. So of course there's probably no chance of it

                    Jol for me.

Love Ireland but would love to see him fail and then disappear into obscurity.

I would actually like Aldridge to become the manager.
I think he would be a great motivator, much better than Staunton anyway.
He was a great cup manager at Tranmere, always had them punching above their weight in the knock out competitions, would give 100%. I know many onm here may not rate him, but I do think he could do a good job, just a hunch.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I would love Aldo...He is my all time hero. I thought when he left tranmere he could have stepped up into the prem...but he didnt. I think he has been out of the game for quite a while, but he will still give 100% and make sure every player gives 100%

Saying that...it would mean that when Liverpool are not on tv or i am not at the match, he would not be comontating on the games
