      Ridiculous.

Where's Maradona?? He's the greatest footballer of all time imo. I'd put him alongside Ronaldo.
Roberto Carlos? What the f*ck? Maldini ****s on him from a height.
Figo was a great player but in the greatest 11? No chance.

          What's so funny?

Ronaldo at his best was pretty much unplayable. In my lifetime I've only ever seen one other player who could take a whole team on, on his own and that was Maradona.

Ronaldo would definitely be vying for a starting spot in any world greatest 11.

Ronaldo. He's a fat nobody right now, a disgrace to what he once was.

Yes he was great, but he was at this level for 2/3 years ? Then he went downhill and doesn't merit to be considered in this team, IMO.

I agree with you that Diego was / is the greatest player there's ever been though.

Obviously right now he's ****e but he was incredible. And you are way off the mark with your 2/3 years theory.

The facts are, he's only the second player in history to score 3 or more goals in 3 separate world cups.

He's Brazil's highest ever world cup goalscorer, ahead of Pele. In fact he's the all time world cup goalscorer with 15 goals in 19 games.

He's Brazil's 3rd highest scorer of all time after Pele and Zico.

He's won European cups, a world cup and pretty much everything else.

              He's scored 227 goals in 306 games.

All this whilst being injured for about 2-3 years in his career.

He's a legend and definitely one of the greatest of all time imo

                This is about opinions mate.

I mean, discussing the greatest in any field will always be impossible. Facts alone does not do the trick, as for example, Ian Rush or even Ryan Giggs have both been fantastic footballers but who couldn't grace a world cup because of Wales poor showing.

I rate Robbie Fowler as the greatest finisher I've seen, but others will probably disagree. All par for the course IMO.

Of course its about opinions but in this case the facts speak for themselves. You would be hard pushed to find many players who have achieved as much in their career individually and in a team than Ronaldo. And that's a fact.

Ronaldo, Maradona, Gerd Muller, Van Basten, Pele would all be in a shout to make the first 11. I'm sure there are others but the above are the first to come to mind.

it's a crazy list - saw it the other day, some geeky ****s with **** all else to do used every single stat and some crazy formula to work it out. They took into account international caps/goals, domestic appearences/goals, cups won etc etc. Some off the list was probably right - Pele no.1, think Ronaldo just pipped Maradona to 2nd place which is debateable, tho Ronaldo is one of the greatest players to have played the game. Figo was actually listed above Zidane - Carlos makes the list cause to be fair he has won world cups, european cups etc etc. That Iranian (i think) striker called something Daib or something like that is quite high on the list cause he scored like 112 goals in a 130 matches for Iran.

Still, Ronaldo at no 2 is a bit far fetched isn't it ? I'd go with Maradona for 1st and seeing him in 6th is pure comedy.
