I love watching England play and desperately want them to win every game, but as has been said before, they are a clear second to my first love, Liverpool FC.

      It is.

And I find it quite interesting that this apathy of international teams sort of coincides with the increased focus and influence pan-national policies and organisations. Not that the EU just started, but hey ho, we travel more etc.. world becomes more international...not national in the same way.

      Anyway...

I agree. Also the England national game has always had a Spurs bias in terms of managers, pundits and players (whereas the club game is mostly ex Liverpool..) which puts me off.

I got more excited during the Scotland game than I probably will for England, becuase they had great support and deserved to go through. We've got a bunch of ******s playing The Great Escape and don't deserve to qualify. And I hate half of our players.

I prefer tournaments when we're not playing anyway. You can enjoy the football and not get distracted by all the hype and inevitable disappointment.

i think its more to do with the style of football International teams from Europe play. Its so boring and depressing no wonder so many fans switch off.

I enjoyed watching 10 minutes of Argies vs Bolivia on Saturday more than i have ever enjoyed watching a full 90 minutes of England play.
