    Cheating, lying Scum

Wayne Rooney, the Manchester United and England striker, will return to club training at Carrington today just 11 days after damaging his ankle, according to sources within the England camp.

Rooney's quick recovery from an injury sustained playing head tennis comes too late for him to feature for England against Croatia tomorrow, although the popular forward will be present in the dressing-room before kick-off to help fire up Steve McClaren's side for a game they must at least draw to qualify for Euro 2008.

England's head coach has already contacted Rooney and invited him down to Wembley. McClaren is keen for his most important unavailable players, like the injured Rooney and John Terry, to gather as the squad make the final push towards Austria and Switzerland. It is all part of the united England feel McClaren seeks to foster.

United themselves will be delighted at the sight of Rooney training. When he suffered the injury on Nov 9, United predicted that Rooney would be out for four weeks. Depending on how his ankle reacts to training, he could be back in competitive action far more quickly than the initial prognosis.

It is a tribute to Rooney's determination and United's medical staff that he is back so swiftly. United's Premier League match with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday will be too soon for him, although he could feature in next Tuesday's Champions League Group F tie against Sporting Lisbon.

Sir Alex Ferguson's champions have played only one game in Rooney's absence, a Premier League victory over Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford
    .

Fergie gets away with it again. That ****ing bitter, red nosed, whisky swigging, bull****ting, hope he gets STD, piece of crap!

Scandalous isnt it. Amazing that the players put up with it though, surely Rooney wants to play in an important match like the Croatia one?!?

It always happens. Not for one second did I believe that 'he's out for four weeks' line.

That’s what I thought, and in the original thread, while I acknowledged United have a history of doing this, I actually thought there’s no way, in this instance, Rooney would allow it.

It SEEMS as though he has.

Or….maybe he was never gonna be out for 4 weeks. Maybe the injury was always just gonna keep him out for 10 days or so – ruling him out of the Croatia game but not for as long as United led everyone to believe?

Although I don’t see what would be in it for them?

****s, they get Stevie with a broken toe when he should be resting and united faked the injury the ****ing scum bags.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest I think all the big clubs like to over estimate injury times - a/ to prevent the irritating 'xxxx's rehab has taken a setback' stories, b/ to give them as much control over international call ups as they can get and c/ (probably least importantly/usefully) to keep other teams guessing.

In fairness, Shrek always recovers quickly from injuries.

Testament to the Rooney tribe's gene puddle, I reckon.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

I'm not sure what the problem is, if United had a game tonight, Rooney wouldnt play. He's back in training, so what?

What pisses me off most is that the newspaper article raves about United and Rooney, and how this is a testament to the player, the club and their physios. Not one hint of cynicism towards what they have done. Call me paranoid, but I can't help but feel that if we pulled a stunt like that the press would rip us to shreds!! I ****ing hate them!!

Include Chelsea in that, as it seems John Terry is fit to play tommorow.
                            Remarkable recovery eh.

Good, it means he'll be back in time to get his legs snapped by Stevie at Anfield!
