Myself and some mates in work have stuck a fiver each on Croatia and Northern Ireland winning tonight.

A complete long shot but we'd be minted if it comes off.

Just a pity Robinson won't be playing.

A humble guy with healthy desire.

      5 in midfield at home?

You've got to laugh, this will be a team that, if it qualifies, will be expected to win.

I wouldn't mind if we lose, especially if it meant McClaren losing his job.

just looking at england training will phil neville ever **** off from the squad a realise that he's **** and will never start unless half the team is struck down with illness or injury. he just kkeps on hanging around that squad and never will be a first teamer so he might as well just retire and about 10 years to late

Is this thread a wind-up? I haven't heard anything about this game in the media.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

One paper has said Shaun Wright Phillips is expected to start because of his decent record at Wembley and England. Beckham looks tired and might come on to chase the game. Can't figure that one out for the life of me!

The ref will be a swede who likes to be the focus point in the game, he want to be seen, so expect a few weird decisions from him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Croatia will be bending over for this one and we'll still probably struggle to hit the target.

As for who starts, McClown should definitely play his most experienced side which would mean Beckham starting. Carson / Robinson are both prone to calamities and I don't rate either so for me it's irrelevant which one of them starts.

We may sneak a 1-0 win but the chances are it will be a nil nil bore draw.

I'd be interested to hear the english contingent's opinion on whether or not they think they can win Euro 2008 with McClown in charge?

I don't and can see McClown dragging the national team further into mediocrity if he stays on in the medium to long term.
