Fergie has already failed at International management, albeit 21 years ago.
I've no doubt he could do a good job but he's a bit too old to start the rebuilding process which is required and his record suggests he would need time to get it right.

I'd give it to Mourinho, he's the stand out choice. He's a winner, he knows how to organise a team, he's a motivator and he's good with the media.

I can't think of a single reason why they shouldn't offer it to Mourinho.

I also think there's a hell of a lot more chance that Mourinho would take it than Fergie

On what basis though? He got West Ham and Southampton relegated.

        He has never won anything.

He has never managed at the European level.

        Why do you rate him?

Didn't Mourinho say recently International management is for lazy people?

The FA will appoint someone **** like fat sam or pearce but I would go for Redknapp first and then if he doesn't want it look abroad at Lippi or Capello someone of their ilk.

Come off it Southampton were doomed before he came in.

West Ham? when did he get them relegated?

Redknapp has consistantly been managing in top flight football for years. he gets the best out of **** players, he's great at man management and he knows his stuff.

Maureen will say no as he wants to manage the Portugal team, i am sure he is one that believes that national team should be managed by one of your own.

I agree with you both. If it was up to me Mourinho would be offered the job but he’s not enough of a yes man for the FA – too much of a challenge.

Redknapp is a good manager and he’d be on my shortlist, but he’s too bent for the FA to consider.

It’d be truly appalling if Allardyce was considered again, but I think the FA will have learned their lesson with Z-list managers like Fat Sam, after the McClaren debacle.

I wonder what would happen if he was in charge of a top 4 team.

How about someone like Roy Hodgson (yes he was crap with Blackburn)

Alternatively Shearer, he has zilch experience but so did Klinsman, Hughes, Van basten

                      We will never know.

His teams play good football as well.

All stuff about him being a crook aside, I’d have one nagging doubt about Redknapp at international level.

His single greatest skill, IMO, is in the transfer market. He identifies the right sort of player time and time again, and is an expert in the mid-lower end of the market. A classic wheeler-dealer. Obviously that doesn’t come to it in international football and you wonder how effective he’d be working only with the tools available to him.

He's a great wheeler dealer as well. Perhaps he can ship out becks and lamps and get in Sir David Healy and Faddy?

My mistake, it was Roedent that got them relegated

He's never won anything, I don't know why people think he's a great manager, great managers are winners.

Jose in a heart beat if i was in charge of the FA and if they paid Sven 4 million then they can pay him.

Its a no brainer really for thr FA
