    A new record for Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti believes Milan should have had a penalty as their draw with Juventus sets a new club record.

“We struggled in the first half, but after the break Juve’s pressure dropped and we took control,” said the Rossoneri boss after tonight’s 0-0 at San Siro.

This result set a new club record, as Milan had never before gone nine consecutive home games without a victory.

“The statistics say we don’t score often enough at home. Today we had some good chances and have nothing to reproach ourselves for,” insisted Ancelotti.

“We could have been a little luckier and there was a penalty incident on Alberto Gilardino.”

Gila seemed to be tugged back by his shorts when stretching to get on the end of a dangerous Kaka cross, but the referee waved play on.

“Juventus are a very compact side and they kept a lot of pressure on Andrea Pirlo. Ronaldo? We have time to get him back into shape.”

Their form is causing concern ahead of the Club World Cup, which starts next week.

“We are doing better than last season before the Christmas break, even if there are some players – especially in midfield – who must play continually. I think we have time to prepare for Japan.”

Meanwhile, Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri has his own theory on Milan’s shortcomings at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“I can see why they are having problems here, as the pitch is like soap. For a highly technical team like Milan, it is the worst kind of environment.”

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Their league record is quite absurd.

0 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses at home. Scored only 3 and conceded only 5.

Away from home however, played 6, won 4, drawn 1, lost 1...scored 17 and conceded only 5.

The moral of this story of course, is always back under 2.5 goals for their home games and over 2.5 for their away games

the pitch has always been shcoking at the San Siro (given two teams share it) but funny how Inter dont seem to have the same problems at home.

They have a better age balanced team.

Milan will have to do a lot of signings the next few seasons. Three, four defenders, two, three midfielders, one, two new strikers and a new keeper.

Maldini, Seedorf, Inzaghi, Dida, Jankulovski, Simic, Cafu, Oddo, Seginho, Favalli, Ba, Brocchi, Ambrosini, Emerson and Ronaldo are past their best and on the way down. That's a lot of players that they need to replace.

oh yeah I know Inter are a lot better balanced, some very good players there, all in their prime, but I think Raneri was being a bit too kind on AC and suggesting the pitch was to blame.

True, Milan will need to replace all those player's you've mentioned, all the wrong side of 30, guess they are starting with Pato, but will need a lot more, especially keeper wise, I have never thought Dida was any good.

Whilst you're not wrong in what you say, i'm not buying it as the reason they're useless at home...

Those same grandads have produced the goods away from home, so why not at the Giuseppe Meazza?

Pato. Will be eligible to play from January. Exciting prospect.

If the stupid government did away with work permits, we'd stand a chance of these kids coming here.

The older players isn't putting in enough work to break down a packed defense. They get more space away from home and that means less really hard work.

They must work harder at home to create a chance.
