A Brazilian referee faces suspension on Tuesday after she awarded a goal that television pictures showed was scored by a ball boy. Pictures showed that after a Santacruzense player shot narrowly wide in the 89th minute, the boy collected the ball with his feet, took it back on to the pitch and tapped it across the line into the net.

it must of been some first touch to control the shot, and a one fine movement to score without the ref noticing.

What amazes me is that the linesman didn't see it and that no-one from the 'scoring' team (the opposition) didn't approach the ref and say what happened!?

If the goal stood, did the ball-boy get shot? Has the woman referee been told to stay in the kitchen from now on? Have the attacking team been banned at all?

Yes. It was a cup game and that goal was at the end of the match and decided the game. The result stands but the referee (who had officiated on matches in the top league) is now under investigation. She will be, at the very least, suspended. She gave the goal on the say so of the linesman.
