bloody germans and their penalty taking! What a strike that was, no keeper on earth would of stopped it.

Also, can the fact Ballack took it be another kick in the balls for lampard, as the media/fan bashing of fat franks weak points carry on, his confidence must be pretty low. I'm sure in the last week i read either lampard or mourinho(possibly both) saying that Lampard would continue to take the pens and then the very next one they get Ballack takes.

Oh well, no more twenty goals a season for him

One of the best penalties I've ever seen!

As you say, good news that Lampard isn't likely to be allowed near a pen in the near future. People are finally getting wise to that overrated piece of **** and thankfully his honeymoon period seems to be grinding to a halt.

Didn't see the penalty, but I was hoping something like this would happen. Put a truly World class midfielder alongside Lampard and his inadequacies will be magnified - apart from the odd deflected goal from a long range shot and converted penalty, what does this guy add? He is not an excpetional passer, he can't tackle, he can't force or dictate the play and the pace of the game the way Gerrard and Alonso do. What is all the fuss about?

I still cant believe Stevie G is played out of position for England to accommodate this waster.

I only saw the highlights last night, but Ballack looked poor apart from getting a goal. Chavchenko wasn't much better.

I didnt see anything of their game so have no idea, I did have a look at Balllack's penalty on Youtube though - unstoppable.

May be these two will find the English game too physical for them, but you would think Europe is there stage.

If Ballack finds his form there is no doubt in my mind he is vastly superior to Lampard and hopefully this will finally expose how overrated Lampard really is.

True, getting used to the Premiership will take these boys time. It's gonna be a huge call for Maureen to drop fat boy, though. He's been bigging him up (and I don't mean stuffing him with pies) over the last couple of days, and won't like to be proved wrong.

Stevie has the talent to play in a number of positions, Fat Frank can only play in one. I can't believe some of the London hacks who actually think Lampard is the better player.
