Doubt he will if Capello is in charge. Can't see his flitting across the atlantic and back, and playing for a poor side going down well with the iron man.Originally posted by chrispy View Post
It's thought likely that David Beckham will captain England against Switzerland in February to mark the occasion of his 100th appearance.

I think they will give Beckham his 100th cap and then tell him thanks for the contribution but thats it now, theres no point in you travelling over plus we have a few young players that we want to develop for the next WC.
....unless those young players are playing ****e and he brings him back

Personally I think almost the entire England set up needs to change and Capello will do that.
He'll play much more tactically (and as opposed to McLaren his tactical knowledge is vast and relies upon players being technically sound), and for this reason I think there are several players who may not feature for England for a while.
I also think there is indeed a good chance that he will replace Terry as captain. Capello will look at where England have their major strenghts and build around that. So for me everything will be based around Gerrard, and I reckon he'll be England Captain.
I also wouldn't be surprised if FC spoke to JC and tried to entice him back into the international fold

You forgot the bit about jumping around on the dance floor like a cunt (with the injury that prevented him playing for his country), oh and then pissing all over the dance floor shortly after when he was ****ing legless. Absolute first class cock.

The manager should have freedom to choose his own captain.
I think Capello will work from the base of the England teams stengths but IMO that has generally been the defense. The midfield has been a shambles and in any pressure situation failed to hold the ball and fallen back on top of the defense with no structure. All England midfielders should have to earn their place in the team as none of them, Gerrard included, has been good enough to justify automatic selection.
As such I suspect Terry will stay as captain."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Would Terry have been as successful in any other team without Chelsea's millions?
Doubt it!, it's easy being captain for Chelsea when going is good, when it comes to the nitty gritty, nowhere to be seen as England have found out!
So Gary Neville or Steven Gerrard would be perfect! You can say tha Gerrard had not performed for England, he did alright under Ericsson without Lampard being there!
Capello will sort out the wheat from the chaffe.
He's not influenced by media, reputations or opinions, he's a winner & winners are single minded individuals that help raise others to their level.
Watch England next year in the World cup qualifiers when they make mincemeat of Croatia & Co.Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

This will be the deciding factor of Capello's reign and I for one am glad we have got in a Coach with world-class credentials.
He really is a winner and that is tantamount to managing a team full of top players. He's been there, done that, in different countries at the highest level. He has vast experience and knowledge and this can only be good for a high-profile team such as England.
Can't wait to see how he's going to set up the team.

I think your view of Terry is unfair. He is an exceptional player and the fact that Chelsea suffer so much when he is absent is testemony to that.
All England players have gone missing at times - noone has consistently excelled under the last two managers although Eriksson was at least better at minimising the deficiencies. Both Lampard and Gerrard have played good games for England but neither has really set a consistently high international standard."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
