    English England Managers?

I had to laugh whilst watching skysports last night. Some buffoon (possibly tony adams? possibly gareth southgate?) was so desperate that we get an English manager that they were suggesting "top" names like glenn hoddle, steve coppell and paul ince!!!!!

Yeah I saw that too. Desperate as hell but I would say that I think Hoddle is a good manager.

Hoddle had a decent record as England Manager second only to Alf Ramsey I think

        It's embarrassing.

Clowns like Ince, Adams and Coppell have been lining up to lambast Capello's appointment.

I notice that full-weight CUNT Bobby Charlton has kept his gob shut this time. Smarmy ****.

I remember when Sven was appointed - Charlton went mad and spouted some right nationalistic drivel. A matter of weeks later, after Sven had guided England to some brilliant wins, Charlton was kissing Eriksson's arse like there was no tomorrow.

Proper ****ing cunt is Bobby Charlton. Detest him.

Had to laugh at that comment from some England spokesman. He said going from McClaren to Capello was like going from Captain Mainwaring to Field Marshall Montgomery in one fell swoop.

I was reading a quote from Paul Ince on the BBC website this morning where he was saying:

"We have got enough managers in England who could do just as good a job."

He's clearly deluded, because there's absolutely no one English who's good enough IMO. The FA needed to look abroad and I think they made the right call, he's going to shake things up.

Ince needs to stop his head bobbing about when he's being interviewed. It was like he was watching a tennis match.

I thought it's interesting that so many ex-England players are disappointed not to have an English manager. Maybe it says something about what it feels like to play for your country. Of course, maybe they're all just little Englanders but I don't think you can write off someone like Coppell as easily as that.

Having said that, no English manager has the pedigree to do the job so all this "I'd have liked an Englishman" is just empty nonsense. Only Roy Hodgson can lay any claim to having the necessary experience and yet he was a complete failure at Blackburn.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Hoddle would have been the best English choice.

Hodgson did a good job at Viking, that should be enough to get the England job.

Who gives a **** if Coppell, Adams and Ince wanted an English Manager - they should look at themselves and only sign English players if they are so nationalistic.

The thing that made me laugh was one of these ****s (forgot which one) said that Harry Redknapps CV is comparable to Capellos!!

However some countries notably Holland and germany have had reasonable success with neophyte managers at international level.

I think that Capello was the best choice but I fear that he might be used as a distraction allowing the FA/PL to not instigate any more fundamental changes to coaching and youth development in this country. If anyone is to care about the England team in the future the FA have to start caring about development today.

A lot of people talk but not a great deal seems to get done.

The appointment of a less experienced and probably less able England manager would have been fine by me if it was part of a concerted attempt to improve coaching, amangement and attitudes to the game in the country as a whole.

Countries like Argentina have looked to organise national football from the bottom up - with coaches at the top level appointed to fit into a wider philosophy. It is that sort of thinking that would meve 'Team England' forward long term.
