    Mancs jailed in Italy

Four Manchester United fans have been jailed for their part in a fight with Roma fans in Italy.

Kyle Dillon, 23, and Richard Wimmer, 39, were each given sentences of two years and six months.

Nicholas Lucas, 18, and 35-year-old Michael Burk were jailed for two years and five months.

The British Embassy said in the past sentences have been suspended but there is no guarantee of this, and all four are likely to spend Christmas in jail.

According to police, the four Manchester United supporters were part of an organised group of 60 hooligans who had broken away from those travelling with the official supporters clubs to the Champions League game in Rome on 12 December.

    Notorious hangout

The police said they made for the River Bar, said to be a notorious hangout for the Roma Ultras, where fighting broke out with bottles and chairs being thrown.

The four men, who were dressed in black with scarves wrapped around their faces, were all identified by Greater Manchester Police spotters outside the ground.

Five United fans were stabbed during skirmishes between a group of 50 rival fans on the Wednesday evening.

The violence flared at the Pont Duca d'Aosta bridge, the scene of previous clashes between visiting fans and Roma's Ultras contingent.

Police used two baton charges to disperse the fans during the violence, which was the latest in a series of clashes between supporters of the two clubs.

Did you have to dig deep to find that Shaggy? Do you think the Mancs in the press used their "rape" story to bury this bit of bad news

I'll bet this wasn't that widely circulated

were any ultras arrested and jailed ? or is this another case of foreign justice?
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

Will they sing their famous Michael Shields song about their own fans?
