Never mind the constant sniping at Rafa, which is more than enough reason.

Seem to remember there being genuine reason to believe he had colluded in an attack on Rafa, on the behest of Ferguson, following the Rafa 'don't bother listening to me' gesture.
Matter of timing or something like that......Ferguson had organised an attack with his media lackeys with his 'beyond the pale' ****, and one of them let slip that they had spoken to the other prior to Allardyce, all of a sudden, having some issue with that gesture and gone running to his media buddies.

No doubt planned over a bottle of scotch.
