**** of the highest order. A spell in the pokey hopefully awaits.

I remember when big Duncan Ferguson was rampaging around Stirling taxi ranks battering people on crutches.

A spell in Bar L soon sorted him out.

Reassuring to see it's the old rule that if it's in the papers it must be true. No smoke without fire, eh? Like those Scousers in 1989. Must have been bunking in without tickets because the papers said so and they've done it before...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

          :whatever:

Whether he's guilty or not is one thing, but are you seriously suggesting he hasn't been arrested and charged with assault?

He may well have been arrested and charged. He could well be guilty. My comments were aimed at the many people in this thread who had already made their minds up that he IS guilty because it's in the papers and because he has 'history'.

As far as I'm aware, this country still has a policy of someone being innocent until proven guilty - not the other way round.

And if you want to be childish, have this back: :whatever:

So the reference to Hillsborough was irrelevant then.

People deciding he's guilty of this charge are jumping the gun, but deciding there's plenty of reasons to conclude that he's a **** that don't require a jury to establish. We've all seen them.

And since when has 'proven beyond reasonable doubt' been a standard for talking on a forum like this?

I used the analogy with Hillsborough to prove a point that just because someone has a reputation and it's in the papers it doesn't mean it has to be "the truth"...

I appreciate that. I think when someone is arrested and charged, although they're not necessarily guilty, it's gone beyond simple tabloid speculation. The reports of comments from his lawyer also reveal a lot. Provocation or not, he has a short temper and seems to have reacted violently.

                        It's obscene.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

He has been refused bail because he was already on bail for 2 other alleged offences when this latest (alleged) incident took place.

Under the bail act there are no conditions that could be satisfied for him to be bailed again

It just amazes me that here is someone earning more in a week than many of us earn in 1 or 2 years, already on bail relating to assault, and decides to go out drinking in his home town presumably went clubbing and ended up in Mc Donalds, and then apprently lacked the self control to walk away from trouble.

At best it shows a clear lack of judgement at worst it is total stupidity

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

Look at the picture of Dabo, several of his former team mates saw him kick the **** out of Dabo.

I don't think you can get any more clear cut case than that.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

No. They will have the trail for the assault on Dabo after the season.
