On the he was provoked defence he's using, famous, a brother inside for a racist murder, you're awaiting two trials for violence related stuff yourself so he goes to a place where there will be loads of pissed up knobheads at 5am? ****ing hell and people say footballers are thick! I wonder why.

Of course he should be allowed to have fun but a bit of common sense wouldnt go amiss.

Good post Chris, of course he hasn't been convicted yet but I don't think he does himself any favours.
If you're a pro footballer on 45k /week there is a certain responsibility which comes with that. You can't have your cake and eat it. Plenty of lads go around acting like Barton allegedly has in this case EVERY weekend, but they don't earn 45k/week and they are not a famous footballer.

Barton is an easy target, for the media and for the general public. Basically he needs to grow up fast, stop going out on the piss with his mates and realise if you want to be a pro footballer with all the trappings that come with that then you have to behave yourself. If you want to be another wage-slave, fine, go out and act like a ****.
