    Tragic news.

I know **** all about medicine, but surely professional footballers should get heart scans every six months or so ? Wouldn't this help prevent these 'collapses' happening....

It would certainly pick up cardiomyopathies, but not going to be very good news telling a pro footballer or a lad of 18/19 that your sporting future has finished.

It wouldn't pick up a dysrhythmia, well it might but it would be very fortunate to pick it up. Basically there would be a lot of false negatives with the test.

Like I say, there are other causes too.

I've seen some octogenarians who have smoked for 70 years non stop and lived off nothing but a cup of tea for 20 years and they are basically indestructable

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                              Thoughts are with his family.

O'Donnell's nephew, David Clarkson, was also playing in the match, and was taken off after being alarmed by the incident.

That had to be hard to see for a family member as well.

Heard it announced as "breaking news" on Five Live.

I'd honestly never heard of him but really sorry to hear he's dies.

                                RIP.
