    Dani Alves.......

    Talk to me......

Surely he's gonna leave Sevilla this summer but where is he gonna go??

I would love if we made a bid again for him would add alot to our right side great engine on him and can score goals.

Hes a good player and one who rafa rates also.

No matter how much money rafa has though he refuses to pay over the odds for a player. He refuses to pay a penny over what he feels is his valuation of a player.

As good a player as alves is, he is vastly over priced and cant see him going anywhere unless sevilla drop their ridiculous valuation of him. ****sake hes so expensive even chelsea knocked him back.

Id rate him at 8 - 10 mill personally in the current market.

I gave up on him ages ago, but ya never know. Still though, I would be surprised if we signed him.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Exceptional player but unless his contract is running down he will command a vast fee. I imagine a lot will depend on where Sevilla finish in the league.

While I think fullback is a position we could improve we should look to attacking areas first. Although as AFII will be quick to point out Alves did well for Brazil in the Copa America on the wing so maybe that is an option.

I only want him if he is available at a fair price. Rafinha or Lahm is the right wing back I would like us to sign.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Seems the bottom line is the price Sevilla are asking for him asnt it something like 18 million when Chelski called, that is nowhere near the valuation on him 10-12 million would be right.

I have a feeling someone will take the bait this year and sign him up

He only have 18 months left on his contact and won't consider to sign a new one so Bayern will soon be forced to sell or get nothing at all for him.

Alves is starting to regain his form from last season which gave him the accolade for the best right back in the world. I think if Sevilla fail to get a Champions League spot which they might do with Villareal and Athletico pushing on, he will leave.

Barcelona have always been admirers of his and he would slot into rightback ahead of Zambrotta and Thuram or more recently Puyol. Real will put a bid in for the sake of it. Chelsea will probably be the only English club to go for him.

Rafa wouldn't want to pay £18 million for a right back when that money could be used for a classy striker or winger.

Rafa would probably pay £18m for a right back if he could afford it. Say that he would get an £60m transfer budget then he would probably pay £18m for a right back.

It all comes down to how big transfer budget you have and what other positions you need to strengthen.

You think? I would if right back was one of the weakest areas and it needed replacement ASAP. At this moment, we are fine with Finnan and Arbeloa. Alves is brilliant going forward but is rather suspect doing the job he should be doing. Nearly a third of the budget on a right back who is dodgy when defending? Maybe not.

However, he would be ideal for right winger. He is pacey, good crossing, good free kicks, very positive thinking, hugs the line. He is brilliant. Now £18 million for a winger that has the potential of being one of the best players in the world, that would be a good signing.
