Bolton target Djibril Cisse to replace Anelka

Gary Megson, the Bolton Wanderers manager, is set to make an offer for Marseille striker Djibril Cisse as Nicolas Anelka's departure to Chelsea grows increasingly likely.
Although Chelsea are yet to meet Bolton's asking price of £18 million for Anelka, the French striker was left out of the squad for the surprise FA Cup defeat against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Former Liverpool forward Cisse, who has been edged out of of Marseille's first team after a disappointing start to the season, would welcome a return to the Premier League, with Blackburn also monitoring the situation.
Bolton had a bid turned down for the striker, 26, in the summer but Megson is ready to go back to the French side with a more inviting offer.
Megson is also targeting Real Madrid's disgruntled striker Javier Saviola.
The Argentine, who was once tracked by Arsenal, has been a peripheral figure at the Bernabeu this season.
Ironically, Bolton face competition for Saviola's signature from Marseille.
