Spurs have bid for Newcastles Taylor rejected

We should go for him good player with a big heart him beside Carra would be a great partnership

I think he's Newcastle's Carragher and they wouldn't make a great pair - far too similar. Surprisingly a lot of people on here seem to think he's ****, but he usually impresses me - the heart of a lion (except for *that* dive), reads the game well. Very Carra-esque IMO.

I think you'll find that we are on the verge of signing Martin Skertl and have no need for him!!

I like him, but he'd be expensive, and possibly not as good a fit as Skrtel?!

You have to remember Carra is 30 and wont be around or able to play every game forever

We have about 16 young Centre Backs in our ressies/out on loan who will eventually(maybe) step into the breach!!!

I like him too but we need to spend the likely large amount of money on improving us going forward, not defensively. Especially not if we complete the purchase of this new bloke.

They'll be sold before they even get near the first team as has been the case for many if not all youth players since Owen and Stevie sadly.....

Hoobs is knocking on the door but when he gets there he's been knocked back with the signing of the Slovakian

I actually have been more impressed with a couple of our other youngsters rather than Hobbs - Ronald Huth looks promising and from what I saw of the youth team and reports of his progress at Hartlepool, Godwin Antwi seems to have a chance

I think they would make a decent partnership but would require pacy fullbacks to make a balanced defense. However I do think that we should probably be looking for someone who offers more in terms of bringing the ball out of defence but Taylor is a good threat from set pieces which would go in his favour.

Has he signed his new contract at Newcastle? If not how long does his current one last?

He's always looked a decent player to me but I can't see us being in for any more centre backs once we sign Skertl.

And he's certainly not as good as Danny Agger.
