You'd have thought Alex McLeish would have learned from Lawrie Sanchez reign at Fulham, just because you know a lot of players from the country you used to manage doesn't mean you have to try and sign them all...

McLeish is currently trying to sign half of the Scottish National Squad!

Happened with many a manager non international too, Wenger with his French boys, Rafa and now Ramos with the Spanish. Souness when in Turkey with the British etc etc.

Atleast some of the Scottish are good, Sanchez and Northern Irish players was a joke.

I can see some sense in it because they’re looking to buy players they know they can trust and players who’ve done the business for them before.

But yeah…I know what you mean. Sanchez’s Northern Irish splurge was embarrassing and always destined to end disastrously.
