They don't seem to be taking any more bets on PaddyPower. Unless they've moved it somewhere else??

According to oddschecker, Betfair and Betdaq are the only ones taking odds, and Houllier, Venables and Brady are the only ones left in the running. Although another internet rumour and that could all change again.

They're back up now. Houllier is still in at evens, and the rest have drifted out a bit...

The FAI have an initial salary cap but this has been enriched by a huge "donation" by a anonymous business man who's instructions were to "go and get the right man".

And no its wasnt Tom Hicks who made the donation.

Anyone have anymore updates on this or any idea when we'll have an annoucement?

Heard on the radio this morning that it's been 92 days since Stan resigned and we still don't have a replacement.

            Typical FAI.

Ged was due to speak at a coaching conference in Dundalk at the weekend that has now been shelved. As I said above they are still haggling with the compo, Givens is likely to take the reigns for the Brazil match until its sorted.

That's Ireland ****ed for a few more years then. Houllier couldn't even get France to qualify for the world cup finals. He's a poor man's Steve Mclaren!!!

Yet was technical director when the won the thing, and was given an award to recognise his input in it.

He had absolutely nothing to do with the way the team set up though, or anything on the field at all. If he did they would have been knocked out in the group stages.

Big deal - one of his best mates pulled a few strings to get him a medal in order to boost his enormous ego. If he was truly deserving of one then it would have been given automatically. It doesn't change his failure as a national team manager.

                          Rubbish statement.

They were knocked out in 2002 at the group stages when he wasn't there
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

Because? He hasn't won the French league with two seperate clubs, finished second in the English Premiership twice(which is all you need to do to qualify in Internationals), won the UEFA Cup, the league Cup(twice) and the FA Cup among other less recognised Cups(including an U-19 Euoprean Championship)? Or is it inspite of all that?

Can you please list what Dalglish(or any other realistic candidate) has that would suggest he'd do a better job of getting the best out of us than Houllier would.

If you can't see it, there's not much point. Houllier doesn't "get the best out of teams", he puts them on a leash and restricts them.

We need a manager who will let us express ourselves like Dalglish did with Blackburn. Do you think Houllier could have won the premiership with a team like that? absolutely no chance whatsoever.

Houllier is the type of manager that would suit a team battling to stay up. He would organise them defensively.

He won the league with Lyon by virtue of inheriting a team who had won it the last 4 years in a row and were twice as good as any other team in the division.
