Apart from the first 15 mins when Arteta was a threat they simply hit the front man at the earliest opportunity; and also hoped to benefit from corners and free kicks. Chelsea's defending and block tackles were superb all night.

It was clear that they needed two players up top. Alex and Carvalho had it very easy and Carvalho was galloping up front on a lot of counters.

It was a very classic Jose style win. Very hard working, very well organised and hitting teams on the break.
