On the day that Rolando Bianchi signs for Lazio, Goran Pandev reveals Newcastle United are making a bid for him.
“Some directors of my current club have told me that Newcastle are interested,” Pandev told Macedonian newspaper ‘Makedonski Sport.’
“From what I know, Kevin Keegan wants me at his disposal immediately, but it is not for me to decide.
“Lazio have recently decided to keep me at least until June, but in football nothing is impossible.”
The statements are the latest indication that Pandev is not happy at Lazio, as he also complained over the Christmas break that the club did not have clear plans for the future.
Pandev’s contract stretches until June 30, 2010, but with teammate Tommaso Rocchi also considering a transfer, the situation is very unstable.
The Macedonian had been linked with a January move to Bayern Munich, but later denied making those statements.
The arrival of Bianchi on loan from Manchester City could clear a path for Pandev to depart towards the Premiership.
Keegan was brought back to ailing Newcastle last week and is eager to reinforce his squad during the January transfer window.
