Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Dundee United captain Barry Robson has been given permission to talk to Celtic after the clubs agreed a fee.

Maybe a Scot could answer this for me...

Why do Celtic hoover up every remotely decent performer from lesser SPL clubs - like Scott Brown, Derek Riordan etc - and almost always let them go a year or so later because it turns out they're - shock horror! - ****? It's bizarre.

Despite being fat I think he is a good player. Not a winger though which everyone seems to want him to be. I'd play him behind a front man.

I actually think Keane has started to turn Sunderland around of late. Jones + Richardson and Reid will be a good combination IMO. They should now escape relegation now that Keane has decided that he can't kick and run the division into submission.

I wonder what part of the world Rick Parry is on Holiday in, with his mobile phone obviously switched off.

All things considered the lack of activity while unsurprising in general is a bit of let down.

I was hoping at least Fulham and Newcastle would give us some entertainment.

Darren Kenton to Leeds - good signing for them. If Rui Marques brings his ACN form home with him they will have an exceptional defense for League One.

                          1500: FULHAM in

Fulham have boosted their squad with the capture of veteran striker Jari Litmanen. The 36-year-old, once of Liverpool, was unattached.
